Modeling surfactant and drop size dynamics in polydisperse liquid-liquid systems with population balances

A population balance framework based on high order moment conserving method of classes is extended to capture surfactant dynamics and its effect drop size distributions. The proposed flexible for incorporating various closure models breakage coalescence, mass transfer, physical equilibria between dispersed continuous phase as well adsorption the interface. first schematically explained derived in a generic form, then appropriate are discussed. model accurate fast can be implemented process models, parameter optimization algorithms, computational fluid software due accuracy with limited number additional variables.
